Master Carriage Terms & Customer Responsibility Agreement
1. Reservation Deposit & Rescheduling Terms
All booking deposits collected to reserve move dates and dispatch crews are non-refundable under all circumstances. Customers are permitted to adjust their scheduled move date or arrival window provided reasonable prior written notice is given, subject to fleet and crew availability.
2. Workplace Safety & Objective
This agreement establishes mandatory safety protocols intended to prevent physical injury, maintain carrier occupational health compliance, and protect cargo against preventable damage during handling, transit, and staging.
3. Restricted Work Zones & Mandatory Non-Interference
For regulatory health, liability, and safety reasons, clients, household members, and third parties are strictly prohibited from lifting, carrying, rigging, or transporting freight handled by Mr Singh Movers staff, unless expressly authorized in writing by the on-site crew supervisor.
4. Hazards of Customer Participation
Any unauthorized attempt by the customer or accompanying parties to intervene, assist, direct, or handle freight disrupts professional staging and significantly elevates the danger of personal injury, property scuffing, and cargo damage.
5. Release of Liability & Restricted Access Waivers
In the event the customer or any associate handles items or intervenes in moving operations, the customer assumes full personal and financial responsibility for resulting personal injuries, structural abrasions to premises, or breakage of goods. Mr Singh Movers is fully released and indemnified against any resulting claims.
The carrier explicitly disclaims all liability for:
- Moves where the client declines the use of protective quilted blankets or neoprene floor runners.
- Packing completed without proper cushioning, bubble protection, or packing paper.
- Transporting unprotected mattresses or box springs without sealed mattress bags.
- Any wall mounting, installation, or dismounting requiring drilling, wall anchors, or structural alterations (including TVs, shelving, mirrors, or artwork).
- Articles outside the continuous physical custody of Mr Singh Movers.
- Internal breakage or shifting within customer-packed cartons, totes, or containers.
- Goods improperly disassembled, bundled, or staged by the client prior to loading.
- Delicate, marble, glass, stone, or high-value artwork not crated or professionally packed by the carrier.
- Furniture fabricated from particle board, pressboard, or structurally unstable ready-to-assemble joinery.
- Oversized items requiring forced maneuvering through tight hallways or doors.
6. Television Handling Policy
Moving personnel may detach wall-mounted flat screens only when accessible safely without structural risk, at the crew lead's discretion. Under no circumstances will Mr Singh Movers mount, drill, or affix televisions to walls at the delivery destination.
7. Carrier Authority to Suspend Work
Mr Singh Movers reserves the absolute right to temporarily halt or cease operations without penalty if client interference, hostile conduct, or site hazards compromise the safety of our personnel or equipment.
8. Vehicle Parking & Municipal Citations
The customer is solely obligated to arrange legal, unobstructed, and proximate parking or loading dock access for the moving vehicle. Any municipal parking tickets, bypass citations, or towing expenses incurred due to insufficient parking arrangements will be billed directly to the customer.
9. Access Disclosure, Long Carries & Elevator Delays
Clients must disclose all physical access obstacles—including consecutive stair flights, long walking carries, parking-to-door distances, and dedicated elevator access schedules—prior to dispatch. Delays caused by elevator reservations or unannounced long carries will incur supplementary labor fees.
The entire outstanding invoice balance, including all labor, travel, and supplementary fees, must be remitted in full BEFORE the moving vehicle's cargo bay doors are opened or unloading begins at the destination address. Acceptable payment methods include certified draft, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Interac Debit. Failure to remit complete payment before drop-off authorizes the carrier to retain cargo in transit or return items to the origin at the customer's expense.
11. Mandatory Concurrent Delivery Walkthrough
Immediately following the unloading and placement of furnishings, the customer must conduct an exhaustive walkthrough inspection alongside our lead driver to examine every piece of furniture, appliance, and box before the crew concludes the dispatch.
Once our moving crew and vehicle depart the delivery premises, Mr Singh Movers assumes ZERO liability for unnoted damages, missing belongings, structural abrasions, or scratches. To be considered, any legitimate claim must be submitted to our office on the date of the move and within 1 business day post-unloading, supported by original furniture purchase/repair invoices. No claims will be entertained after this period.
Cargo indemnity provided by Mr Singh Movers is strictly governed under standard released valuation coverage up to a maximum rate of $1.40 per pound per individual damaged or lost article. This protection applies exclusively to items professionally wrapped with heavy quilted pads and shrink-wrap by our moving team. Customer-packed containers, items where wrapping was waived, or damages claimed after crew departure are completely excluded from valuation settlement.
14. Governing Precedence
Should any inconsistency arise between this document and any prior verbal quotes or third-party communications, the terms stipulated in this Agreement shall supersede and govern all transactions.
